This course teaches foundation knowledge on Corporate Real Estate primarily for those those working in or with Corporate Real Estate as owned and let by large corporations, governments, local authorities and similar large-scale occupiers of space. This course also provides must-have knowledge to those working for landlords or their service providers keen to understand more of the drivers in decision making of large corporates.

In this course we explain how the property industry functions, what factors drive it, and delves into what various types of corporate occupier want, when and why. How do their occupational needs change over time, and how do you factor this in? In this course we explain the complex world that balances the need for occupational efficiency, performance and productivity with key drivers such as accounting principles, IFRS accounting, taxation, availability and pricing of debt and other financial motivators.

  • Lease vs Buy – a complicated web of many factors interact including ESG
  • Disposal decisions analysed and explained

Lease considerations: an occupier’s wish list meets reality

Module 5

  • How to dispose of superfluous space
  • Opco/Propco structures analysed: what are the pros and cons?
  • Sale & Leasebacks and IFRS16
  • How does lease income translate into investment value?
